It was a bittersweet night for Daniel Osbourne (Rob Mallard) and Sinead Tinker (Katie McGlynn) as the couple danced through their tears having become man and wife. Sinead has sprung a surprise wedding on Daniel and he was overwhelmed as they prepared to make their vows official – but a tragic discovery was lying just around the corner.
As Sinead was having her hair done by her aunt Beth (Lisa George), a lump was discovered on her neck and the nightmare reality that her cancer might have returned hit home and cast a dark cloud over the special day.
Her future uncertain, Sinead revealed her harrowing discovery to Daniel and he was knocked for six – but she insisted that they put it to the back of their minds and focus on their wedding day. They tried their best but it was clear that their worries were weighing heavy on them.
As they got through their day and became man and wife, Sinead pulled Daniel onto the dancefloor with a smile on her face, telling him she was happy. However, she also confided that she was scared but as they held each other close, surrounded by friends and family, they vowed to enjoy the moment.
However, viewers know that the story will not have a happy ending and when Sinead goes for tests, they are hit with the shattering news that the cancer has spread and Sinead has been left with only months to live.
