Space Jam 2 is set to get a new director as Malcolm D Lee is replacing Terence Nance.

The sports comedy, which will star legends including Lebron James and Don Cheadle, will be the follow up film to the 1996 hit movie.

Although shooting began with short film director Terence at the helm, its now been revealed that Malcolm, who directed movies including Night School in 2018 and Girls Trip in 2017, is taking over.

Sources told Deadline that Nances departure from the movie was amicable, but he had a different vision for the movie compared to the studio and producers.

Meanwhile, Black Panther director Ryan Coogler is also on board as a producer for the upcoming flick.

Its been 22 years since Space Jam hit our screens and, ever since, fans have been desperate for a sequel, with the release date finally being confirmed in February.
