EastEnders actor James Bye has shared his delight as the happy news that he and his wife Victoria are expecting their third child. Announcing the news of her pregnancy, the couple exclaimed that they are over the moon after a difficult fertility journey.
James, who plays Martin Fowler in the soap, and Victoria already have two sons together – five-year-old Edward and Louis, two. The couple have been married for six years and cant wait to expand their family.
Victoria explained her difficult path to her third pregnancy in an interview with OK! Magazine. She said: I began suffering from aches and pains in my abdominal area. I went for tests and it transpired I had severe endometriosis. The doctor was surprised Id fallen pregnant so easily with my other children as he said it was likely it had been there the whole time.
We didnt think wed be able to have any more children after two surgeries. But then in June we went to the Soap Awards and I didnt fancy drinking, which is unlike me. When we got home I did a test and it was positive – we were so surprised! Were having a boy!
James added: Im over the moon its a boy. I play a lot of golf and you tend to go out in a group of four, so I have my future golf team ready now!
Delighted Victoria added that she is already excitedly planning their ten year wedding anniversary with their three children around them.
Its clear James is having much happier times than his alter ego Martin, whose own marriage to Stacey is on shaky ground. With Martins loyalties divided between his mates and Staceys best friend Ruby Allen, who has accused one of them of rape, things are very difficult right now.
Thankfully, James has plenty to smile about when the cameras stop rolling.
