No-one in Coronation Street is safe from the wrath of killer Pat Phelan – and he has a new target in his sights tonight as he loses his temper in a big way. But will this lead to his wife Eileen discovering the shocking truth about him?
When Amy Barlow and Summer Spellman find themselves in serious danger as they head out to look for missing Billy Mayhew, Peter Barlow is forced to intervene and rescue them from an aggressive mugger. Meanwhile, the downtrodden vicar hands himself in to the police after being unable to deal with the guilt of stealing from Eileen.
Adam is fighting with his own conscience as he knows that his actions have led Billy down the path to drug addiction and so he offers to step in as a solicitor for Billy as he is interviewed. And Adam does as he promises and gets Billy home – but that’s where Phelan comes into the story.
We already know that Phelan has his own complex relationship with religion in relation to his own sins as we saw him struggle at confession when he was holding the now murdered Andy Carver hostage.
So when he and Billy are left alone together, Phelan decides that the broken man sitting before him hasn’t suffered enough – and confronts him in his own darkly unique way.
But as Phelan’s temper explodes, how far will he go. And will Billy and Eileen see his true colours?
Coronation Street continues on Wednesday 14th March at 7:30pm and 8:30pm on ITV.
