It seems that evil killer Pat Phelan could be set for the grave in Coronation Street – as bookies have slashed the odds on the character meeting a dramatic death when he gets his comeuppance this year. The odds are now 4/5 – which is a 67% chance – that Phelan will die so could a permanent exit be on the horizon?

Coronation Street and actor Connor McInytre have made no secret of the fact that justice is about to come knocking for evil Phelan and fans are positively foaming at the mouth in their hunger for him to finally be brought down for all of his crimes.

So could one of his many enemies – including Gary Windass, Nicola Rubinstein, Seb Franklin and possibly soon his own wife Eileen – be about to strike a killer blow and give the murderer a taste of his own medicine?

A spokesperson for Paddy Power, who have released the updated odds, told ‘Could we finally see the end of Pat Phelan?! He’s arguably the biggest baddie the soap world has ever seen and has been scheming on the Street for far too long.

‘It looks a dead cert that he will finally be served some justice this year, and we make it more likely that he will be killed off than put behind bars.’

The odds are 1/2 that Phelan will be gone by the end of 2018 and Anna Windass is also tipped to make a return to the show before the end of the year to seek revenge against Pat Phelan, who framed her for attempted murder and put her behind bars for five years. Bookies have slashed the odds from 8/1 on her returning to the cobbles into 2/5 – which simply means it’s a 72% chance of happening.

An exit storyline of Phelan ending up in jail is priced at 2/1 – making death seemingly the favourite outcome.

However, with many twists and turns set to play out – anything could happen.
