The true location of Gary Barlow’s cameo in The Last Jedi has finally been revealed – and it’s not in the scene many fans believe it is.

Fans had been led to believe that the Take That singer’s cameo would see him wearing Stormtrooper armour alongside Princes William and Harry.

Star Wars fans – can you defeat the ultimate The Last Jedi quiz?

But the director of last year’s Rogue One, Gareth Edwards, revealed in an interview that the national treasure was far more visible than that.

Edwards was discussing his own cameo in The Last Jedi when the revelation came to light.

He told Fathatracks:

I got there and obviously they briefed everyone but I got there late, so they were like ‘stand there, put this on’.

I went into this trench and I had no idea what was going on, and I looked to my right and it’s Gary Barlow.

I think his wife or girlfriend was there as well. You start looking down the line, it was a bit like ‘I’m a rebel, get me out of here’.

Spoiler alert here, because Edwards went on to explain the specifics of the scene that he was in, which was set on the mineral world of Crait at the end of the film.

So, Barlow was not in trooper armour like Princes William and Harry, but a Resistance trooper in the Battle of Crait.

The question now remains, who else made a cameo in the film?

A number of high profile stars have appeared in Star Wars films over the years including Daniel Craig as a Stormtrooper in The Force Awakens and Tom Hardy who was also in The Last Jedi.

Rumours floated around for years that 70s superstars such as John Travolta and Sylvester Stallone were in the original trilogy, although this was never substantiated.

Directors also make appearances in each other’s films, with Edwards appearing in The Last Jedi and also in Rogue One, just as The Last Jedi director Johnson appeared in Rogue One as one of the men who operated the Death Star laser.

The Last Jedi is out now and is currently the number one film across the planet.
